Estamos a Antigua

on the roof of Villa Esthela

The volcano
Hey all,
We are completely whipped after a seriously early morning. After an exciting ride here, up and down mountains around hairpin turns, we are in a quaint little guest house with a rooftop terrace. We are listening to doves cooing, church bells ringing and someone banging the heck out of something metal. The weather feels like early spring, the streets are bumpy cobblestones and we're learning Spanish from billboards. We'll post some pics soon.

  1. Thanks for the updates.... we look forward to reading them.....hope the metal banging didn't last too long! Chestnut forks had 144 swimmers.... good chance we got our tails whipped last night... Jenna swam-up with the 15-18yr olds and came in 2nd or 3rd.... I haven't had my morning coffee yet.... my memory is foggy!

  2. It's Jenna, Mom posted that while i was still asleep! So now I'm posting. FYI I came in 3rd on my breast stroke, and the Blue Marlins aka Boo Marlins where really good this year. I was talking to Mom while she was timing and one of the Marlin Moms was screaming to a kid "Come on Billy, ATTACK THE WALL!!" And I screamed "Rip it to Pieces!" And started chewing on my goggles. Then after my 100 Free I didn't have anything till after half time so Dad bought me a hamburger and I inhaled it. Then I went over to Mom and told her a squirrel stole my hamburger and I needed another, and the worst part is she believed me! For part of the time at least eventually she caught on. Anyway, I thought Alden would like that. Have fun in Guatemala, and drink a few mango smoothies for me.
